Biden: Over 300 election deniers running

President Biden warns of mounting risks to democracy: ‘We are at a tipping point.’

President Joe Biden urged Americans to vote for democracy, reject election-denying candidates, and be patient with outcomes ahead of the first national election day since the Jan. 6 attack on the United States Capitol.

According to Biden, more than 300 election doubters are expected to appear on ballots across America this year. The President stated at Washington, D.C.’s Union Station that Americans cannot overlook this impact on the country.  “It’s damaging, it’s corrosive, and it’s destructive.” He said.

The president’s omen came with less than a week until Election Day. Five days after, an assailant with a history of spreading right-wing conspiracy beliefs broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s house and assaulted her husband with a hammer, causing major damage to his head.

On Wednesday evening, the US President claimed that Pelosi’s assailant David DePape employed the same rhetorics as the rioters on Jan. 6. Without identifying Trump, Biden stated that the previous president “whipped up the rioters into a frenzy” with his big lie that the 2020 election had been stolen. According to Biden, the deception has resulted in inflated political violence and voter intimidation over the last two years.

Lies of Conspiracy & Malice fuel Intimidation Violence-Biden

According to president, intimidation and violence against Democrats, Republicans, and impartial officials simply performing their duties result from lies told for power and profit. Lies of Conspiracy and malice. “Lies are repeated repeatedly, creating a cycle of anger, hatred, vitriol, and even violence,” He added. “At this point, we must confront those lies with the truth.”

Biden referenced recent polls that suggest Americans are concerned about democracy and reminded voters that they may confront it at the ballot box. The choices taken now, according to Biden, will determine if democracy in the United States will endure.

“We need to start looking out for each other again, recognizing ourselves as we the people, not as entrenched foes,” Biden added. “We have a choice here.” Of course, disunity and chaos are not inevitable. There has been anger and conflict in America, but we have never abandoned the American project, and we cannot do so now.”

The president also warned Americans that in many areas, absentee ballots cannot be counted until polls close on Election Day, which means the final results would be delayed. This became a major topic of contention for conspiracy theorists during the 2020 election, especially since many Democrats voted by mail during the coronavirus pandemic. Far-right election deniers alleged that lawfully cast ballots were tainted.

“It takes time to tally all eligible ballots in a legal and orderly manner,” Biden remarked. “It has always been critical for citizens in a democracy to be informed and involved.” Citizens must now be patient as well.”
